Except the “would you live here on $35,000” question still pisses me off.

Because some of us have to/had to.

With sincere curiosity, I want to know HOW ya’ll survived. I honestly can’t comprehend it. $35K in Manhattan??? You could barely live in West Hartford on that, if you want to do anything more then sleep and work.

Do you live in Manhattan? Do you eat? Do your parents help you? How do you look so chic all the time? Are you in debt? My friends in Connecticut ALWAYS talk about how we can’t comprehend how people work entry-level jobs in Manhattan if their parents aren’t helping.

I’m genuinely curious. Please share!

You live in the outer boroughs with two roommates, so everything is split by 3. You thrift. You fall in love with cooking to avoid eating out, even if bringing a bag lunch to work is inconvenient. You get a library card or shop at The Strand instead of Borders. You travel by bus to your vacation destination instead of flying. You spend your summers at the Park and you choose wisely the times you celebrate in style. And you keep dreaming. Because dreaming is free.

Or you can rack up credit card debt and leech off your parents, like I did, because you are completely unable to stop living beyond your means. It worked for me! LOL, for a while at least.

Also, sneaking liquor into bars did tremendous things for my wallet.

I love when I show up to work at 8:30 am on the dot and there’s no one here.

I’m a little nervous. My brother isn’t home yet and my Mom can’t get a hold of him. It’s super foggy out, like so foggy you can’t see two feet in front of you, and he has to drive an hour from Orlando to here. Usually he’s home by now. At first I wasn’t worried, but now I’m kind of freaked out.

Meet Gilly. Gilly was becoming a nuisance at the lake, so Gilly was, um…taken to a better place. We bought Gilly’s skull from Gator Bill (yes, that is his given title, as evidenced by his vanity license plate), our local gator wrangler. Gator Bill, upon meeting him in a gas station parking lot with my Dad to exchange cash for the skull, had a foot-long beard and a rather large knife firmly planted at his hip. He also gave me a brochure about “Gator Safety.” Upon other things mentioned in the brochure, it stated that if bitten by a gator, you should seek immediate medical attention. Ya think???

I bet you’re wondering what we’re going to do with Gilly. My Dad is giving her to my Mom for Christmas with a bracelet inside her jaw. Her teeth are not as sharp as you would think.

Just another day at home.

Oooo girls, you should check out barenecessities.com and speigel.com. I know, I know, you think I’m crazy. Spiegel, you say? That wierd catalog our Moms get? Well, let me tell you ladies. I just ordered some ShapeFX leggings and I am quite enthralled. Not only do they hold you in, they aren’t too sheer and are so cheap (warning: they run rather large.)
